Now last night I went to a high school playoff game in Waller, Texas between Navasota and Sealy. Now Sealy is known for putting out good football talent starting with Eric Dickerson, who went to SMU and play many years in the NFL becoming one of the greatest running backs in history. Then Curtis Dickey of Sealy went on to go to Texas A&M and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.
Last night I saw a team with more size get dominated by a team with more speed. That is not how it normally goes with high school football. Navasota destroyed Sealy 40 - 14 however it was the number 4 show last night. #4 for Sealy was 6'5" 230 lbs Ricky Seals-Jones was QB/DB and #4 for Navasota was Jacob Malek, didn't have stats just knew he was smaller, played QB/WR/S/CB/LB/RB. Seals-Jones is being heavily recruited by many big schools and Malek isn't.
Malek did everything and just destroyed Sealy. Malek was definitely my MVP for the game.
Gotta love Friday night lights.
